Every two years PERSPECTIV organizes an international congress: a meeting point for everyone responsible for a historic theatre or interested in thsi topic for other professional or private reasons. The congress is open to the public and everybody interested in the topic is very welcome.
On invitation of the City of Bayreuth (Germany), the congress will take place in the Franconian university and cultural city from October 2 to 5.
The program of the congress is dedicated to the new „European Route of Historic Theatres“ that has been constructed for the past two years with the support of the Culture Programme of the European Union.
On October 3 & 4 the topic will be approached from three different angles. The first part will present a report on the European Route and the experience of other cultural routes. The second part focuses on the preservation of this very spezial common European heritage – from legal questions to restoration. The third part will discuss to what extend it is possible today to present historically informed productions of stage works from other eras.
An opera performance and guided tours on October 2 as well as an excursion to historic theatres in the area complete the program.

The conference languages are English, French and German. Simultaneous translations will be provided in all three languages.

45 Euros for one accompanying person
45 Euro for students (valid student card required)
No other concessions, no day cards.
