European Route of Historic Theatres

Baltic Route

From the midlands to the Baltic sea – theatres in four nations

The Baltic Route of the European Route of Historic Theatres runs through Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

Focus on 1900: the Baltic Route presents highlights of art nouveau style in Tallinn, Tartu and Warsaw, splendid examples of eclecticism in Riga, Vilnius andKrakow, and Austrian neo-Baroque in Cieszyn.

Whereas the last palace theatre of the region, Lancut, and the royal theatre in Warsaw take you back to around 1800.
